Ashby Rushing

Ashby began volunteering with Better Decisions in 2018. She has been privileged to serve as a mentor and a teacher. Ashby grew up in Virginia and attended the College of William and Mary. She completed masters and doctoral degrees in education at George Washington University. She taught middle school in Arlington Public Schools and the Potomac School. In addition, she served as an adjunct professor at George Washington University and George Mason University. While in Northern Virginia, she served as Board Member and President for Encore Stage and Studio, a children’s theater and ran the auction multiple years benefiting her daughter’s elementary school. After moving here, Ashby began volunteering with several local organizations. She enjoys yoga, travel, writing, reading and spending time with her husband, daughter and dogs!
